Aberdeen Professional Friendship Group Web Design

Community Engagement and Membership Platform for Aberdeen Professional Friendship Group (APFG)

Storm Scotland developed a secure, user-friendly digital platform for the Aberdeen Professional Friendship Group (APFG). The website functions as a central hub for organizing social activities and managing a specific, high-trust membership community in the Aberdeen area.

Strategic Goals & Community Engagement

The primary objective was to create a safe, organized, and inviting online space that clearly defines the group’s purpose while providing members with all the necessary tools to enhance their social lives.

  1. Clarity & Trust: Immediately communicating the purpose (Friendship, not dating) and the target demographic to manage expectations and ensure a focused community.

  2. Membership Management: Implementing a robust membership system to control access to exclusive event details and community features.

  3. Activity Promotion: Providing a dynamic and clear program to promote diverse social activities, from active pursuits to relaxed evenings.

Membership Gatekeeping

Utilizsed the Paid Memberships Pro plugin to manage membership, ensuring only registered and qualified (over 45, unattached, local) users access sensitive event details and member-exclusive content.

Dedicated sections for listing a wide scope of activities, including Hillwalking, Cinema visits, Restaurants/Social nights out, and City trips across Scotland, streamlining leisure planning for members.

Prominent inclusion of a key disclaimer (“Please note this is not a dating site“) alongside a detailed FAQ page to reduce administrative inquiries and foster a culture of genuine friendship.

Highlighted compliance pages to ensure members feel secure about their personal data and privacy within the exclusive group.
